NINE mud huts were built in the large forepart area of the very first hotel in Nainital, located adjuscent to the holy Nainital Monastery complex.

Mud houses are native and popular in Nainital as well as in entire Spiti Valley, this being a Cold desert. Mud houses keep warm in winter and cool in summer.

The world famous Nainital Monastery complex is entirely built with Mud & wooden poles, which has withstood the harsh weather for the last 1027 years.
